Belfry Bargains Important Information!

Dear Fellow Parishioners,

As co-coordinators of Belfry Bargains, we are writing to inform you of recent developments at Patterson House, i.e., the home of Belfry Bargains since 1983. In its 41 years of operation, the mission of Belfry has been an integral part of Messiah. It is our flagship of outreach into our local community as well as helping support national and international relief efforts.

Last year, we were blessed with an angel gift that supplied two new beautiful – and much needed – porches to Patterson House. Over the past few months, we have been made aware by Vestry that a few issues at Patterson House need to be corrected before Belfry can reopen for business - the most significant being rewiring of the electrical system and replacing doors with fire doors.

We anticipate the permitting process with the township to take several weeks. Once the permit is in hand, work can then begin on the electric. Several preliminary bids on the work involved have been received. When an electrician has been selected, we’ll be launching a “Friends of Belfry” drive to raise the needed funds for this work.

In the meantime, your prayerful consideration of a financial pledge will be greatly appreciated by the many who benefit from our presence in the community, our volunteers, and the charities that Messiah’s Outreach ministry supports.
