Announcing our new Rector, Rev. Emily Givens

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Rev. Emily Given as our full-time Rector.

Emily, a Pennsylvania native, is the mother of two creative children (Kenzie, 24 and Scout, 18) and is grateful to walk in the world with her supportive partner, Jason. She is a lifelong Episcopalian who has served churches in Connecticut, Texas, and Pennsylvania. Before being ordained, Emily served for over 25 years as a lay professional working with children, youth, and families on the parish and diocesan levels. 

She is an avid gardener, mixed media artist, foodie, live music fan, joyful picture taker, and willing partner in adventure. Most days off you can find her working on her ever-expanding garden in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia, browsing through thrift stores, or wandering through museums.

Most recently, Emily served as the Associate for Pastoral Care at St. David's Episcopal Church, Radnor. She will join Messiah on October 13, the day after her priestly ordination.
